“All roads lead to Rome.”
This is a well-known English expression which reminds us that Rome used to be considered the ‘centre of the world’ about 2000 years ago. Now, Rome is no longer the centre of the world, but it is still a beautiful city which everyone should definitely visit!
The most important things to see in Rome are the amazing old buildings such as the Coliseum and the Pantheon. The fact that they are still standing today shows how skilled the ancient Romans were at building.
Rome also has many famous fountains that are a must-see. They bring fresh water into the city, and they contain beautiful statues of some of the old Roman gods. But don’t go swimming!
Finally, Rome has many great restaurants and cafés serving delicious Italian food where you can sit and relax after lunch or dinner. Some of them are even on top of the old buildings!
